4-5 Years Program

The 4-5 Years program at Happy Days Child Development Center was designed to fulfill the physical, emotional, creative, intellectual, and social needs of your four to five year olds. As such, the teachers at Happy Days see and treat each child as a unique personality who requires help, support, and guidance to reach his or her maximum potential at his or her own pace.

Interpersonal relationships are developed by placing the children into small working groups. In such groups, your child will learn to interact positively with others, while maintaining his individuality.

Broadening of language skills is achieved through storybook reading, modeling and dramatic play. We nurture development of the imagination to encourage your child’s individual expressiveness with drama classes and other creative activities. A variety of arts and crafts are taught such as ceramics, paper maché, painting, drawing, and sculpting.

In order to develop coordination skills, children are introduced to physical education, music and movement activities, and games. Group lessons and theme based individual learning centers teach science, math, phonics culture and a variety of other topics throughout the year.

Hands on learning is highly encouraged through learning centers that include math, language, sensorial and practical life themes.

4-5 Years Program - Children working together

As part of our curriculum, we emphasize good manners and consideration towards others. As such, we use positive reinforcement methods such as a ticket reward chart to reward good behavior as an alternative to traditional time outs.

Happy Days Child Development Center provide many opportunities for parent participation in the program. Classroom parties, field trips, cultural celebrations, parades, and workshops are a sample of those activities that bring school and family together.
